Jimmy Page, born in 1944, is the founding guitarist of Led Zeppelin and one of rock’s most influential musicians. He began as a prolific session guitarist before joining The Yardbirds, and in 1968 formed Led Zeppelin. The band’s first four albums—Led Zeppelin I (1969) through IV (1971)—changed rock with classics like “Whole Lotta Love” and “Stairway to Heaven.” Page’s innovative use of alternate tunings, production layering, and Eastern musical influences elevated Zeppelin’s sound.
